* Category One Damage, Clean Water: Category 1 is the least severe, it includes broken pipes and drinking water supply lines, water from sinks and bathtubs, and/or appliances. This type of water is toxin-free and does not have side effects for the property owner later on. * Category Two Damage, Grey Water: Category 2 water damage, aka “grey-water” includes sump pump backups and storm/heavy rain. Grey-water can be harmful to humans, and it must be removed and any affected items must be disinfected completely. * Category Three Damage, Black Water: Category 3 water damage, aka “black water” damage, is the most serious type of water damage. This type of damage includes sewage, rising floodwaters, seawater, current from rivers, and groundwater. After removing the water along with all items were in contact, through disinfecting application is required.
